Adobe Names the best company to work for in 2009

In the slump of world economy where most companies went bankrupt, Adobe leads the way to success.

Adobe Ranks No. 11 on FORTUNE’s Annual List

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Jan. 23, 2009 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced it is ranked the 11th best company to work for in America, according to FORTUNE magazine’s 12th annual “100 Best Companies to Work For” survey.

This marks the tenth year Adobe has been included on the list. For 2009, Adobe is among the top companies included from the high-tech sector, and in FORTUNE’s subcategory of midsized companies (those with 2,500 to 10,000 U.S. employees), Adobe’s ranking climbed to No. 2 from No. 12 last year. Additionally, Adobe is ranked No. 10 among “top-paying” companies. The full list and related stories are currently available at www.fortune.com and will be featured in FORTUNE’s Feb. 2, 2009, print issue, available on newsstands Jan. 26, 2009.

“Adobe is honored to be included once again on this distinguished list,” said Donna Morris, senior vice president, Human Resources at Adobe. “In the face of continuing global economic uncertainty, our commitment to keeping Adobe a great place is unwavering, and our ranking speaks to our employees’ enthusiasm about growing their careers here.”

Adobe has approximately 7,000 employees in locations worldwide, including North America, Europe, Japan and Asia Pacific. More than half of Adobe’s employees are located in the United States. Adobe is headquartered in San Jose, Calif., with U.S. research and development sites in Sacramento, Calif., San Francisco, Calif., Santa Rosa, Calif., Seattle, Wash., Boston, Mass., and Arden Hills, Minn., in addition to a nationwide network of sales offices.

In total, 353 U.S. companies vied for a place on the “100 Best Companies to Work For” list. Two-thirds of a company’s score is based on the 57-question survey created by the Great Place to Work® Institute, a global research and consulting firm with affiliates worldwide. FORTUNE polled a minimum of 400 randomly selected employees at each company. The remaining third is based on a company’s responses to the Culture Audit questionnaire, which included questions about demographics, pay and benefit programs, and open-ended questions on philosophy, communication and more.

Disney uses Adobe Technology

The importance of Adobe Certifications is unimaginable.

ADOBE MAX 2008, SAN FRANCISCO — Nov. 17, 2008 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that Disney.com, the No. 1 ranked kids entertainment and family community destination on the Web*, is leveraging Adobe video solutions to create and deliver rich interactive experiences. Over the past several months, Disney.com has experienced record online traffic levels as viewers logged on to watch full-length movies delivered via the Adobe® Flash® Platform, the de facto standard for delivering interactive content, applications, and video on the Web. The announcement coincides with the keynote address at Adobe MAX 2008 North America in San Francisco, Calif., where Bud Albers, chief technology officer for Disney Interactive Media Group, is showcasing Disney.com’s successes with online video streaming.

Disney.com began streaming full-length movies online using the Adobe Flash Platform in June 2008. Since then, Disney.com has set new site records for traffic. The online version of the movie “Camp Rock,” which aired using Flash technology on June 23, 2008, was extremely popular and attracted hundreds of thousands of video plays and increased Disney.com traffic by 37 percent.

Disney is the latest media giant to adopt Adobe Flash software for delivering video to the Web. According to a September 2008 study by comScore Media Metrix, 81percent of online videos viewed worldwide are delivered using Adobe Flash technology, making it the No. 1 format for video on the Web. The study showed over 12 billion online videos are viewed monthly.

“We are thrilled that Adobe’s video solutions are used throughout the Disney.com workflow and enhance the success of a must-visit online destination for families and kids,” said Jim Guerard, vice president and general manager of Dynamic Media at Adobe. “Disney’s iconic characters, movies and content are a defining part of our shared popular culture and Adobe Flash technology is the cornerstone to ensuring Disney.com delivers a high-impact experience, to a huge online audience.”

“Adobe video solutions enable us to engage and entertain our audience in rich, interactive, and unprecedented ways. The ubiquitous Adobe Flash Player provides a rich guest experience and allows Disney.com viewers to instantly access our content,” said Bud Albers, chief technology officer and executive vice president, Disney Interactive Media Group.

Intel and Adobe Extend Flash Technology to TV

The power of flash technology is unquestionable.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 5, 2009 - Adobe® Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) and Intel Corporation today announced plans to collaborate on the development to port and optimize Adobe® Flash® technology for the Intel® Media Processor CE 3100. This effort is expected to provide consumers with richer and more seamless Web-based and video viewing experiences through advanced Intel-based cable set-top boxes, Blu-ray Disc players, digital TVs and retail connected AV devices.

The high-definition capabilities of the Adobe Flash Platform, together with the Intel® Media Processor CE 3100, the first in a new family of purpose-built Intel System on Chips (SoCs) for CE devices, creates a powerful entertainment hub capable of delivering rich Web content and Adobe Flash based applications to an array of Internet-connected CE devices. Intel and Adobe are working together to optimize both the Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Flash Lite™ for the CE3100. Intel plans to ship the first CE3100 with support for an optimized implementation of Adobe Flash Lite before mid-2009.

The two companies are uniquely positioned to support consistent, rich Internet content across PCs, laptops, netbooks, mobile Internet devices (MIDs) and now the TV, extending the shared business objectives of accelerating rich video and Internet content across the full breadth of consumer devices.

“The Intel® Media Processor CE 3100 is a highly integrated solution that provides a powerful, yet flexible technology foundation that will bring to life the high-definition capabilities of Adobe Flash,” said William O. Leszinske Jr., general manager of Intel’s Digital Home Group. “Our effort with Adobe is poised to accelerate a rich, yet relevant Internet experience on the TV that will provide consumers with access to a growing number of Flash based applications that will ultimately be enjoyed across a number of screens seamlessly, from the laptop to a MID and now the TV.”

Intel and Adobe have a long history of technical collaboration, including, most recently, being founding members of the Open Screen Project. Announced in May 2008, the Open Screen Project is designed to enable a consistent runtime environment across screens. The initiative has 20 major industry partners and is dedicated to enable Web content, standalone applications and full Web browsing across televisions, set-top boxes, mobile devices and other consumer electronics that take advantage of Adobe® AIR™ and Adobe Flash capabilities.
