IBM - IT Specialist for Wintel System Support
IT Specialists in this job role will have expertise in one or more server technologies, including different hardware architectures and operating systems. Typical examples of the deliverables are building proof-of-concept solutions with server system technology and architecting server solutions to address client requirements. IT Specialists in this job role work with products or solutions based on any vendor hardware and/or any vendor operating system software. IT Specialists who apply their technical skills to support the operation and maintenance of vendor products, services, and solutions. Individuals who are part of Support typically have responsibility for sizing, troubleshooting, and critical customer situations.
Primary responsibilities :
Experience in implementing Microsoft Windows Server products (Windows 2003/Active Directory/ISA Server/Exchange Server/SQL Server/Operations Manager/Systems Manager) and SAN technologies infrastructure projects;
Experience in implementing and designing security and firewall projects;
Experience in implementing enterprise Linux and Unix systems projects
Understanding of project management principles;
Experience in Change Management and Risk Management processes;
Excellent analytical skill and strong problem solving skills
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as a strong command of the English language, both verbal and written
In- depth technical experience in the following :
MS Windows Operating Systems
MS SQL Server
MS IIS
MS Exchange
MS Active Directory
LAN/WAN/VPN Infrastructure Setup
SAN Storage architecture and setup
Required
experience in Support Windows and MS Technologies
experience in Apply Problem Solving Techniques
experience in Perform Server Configuration
experience in Apply Knowledge of IBM IT Related Services
Certified in MCSE, CCNA an advantage
